Each piece of furniture is made
from solid oak. The timber is seasoned and kiln dried in preparation for the
making of this handcrafted product. There is simplicity to the design with
no two pieces of furniture the same, as characteristics of the wood give
each item a unique look.

When using solid wood, there will
always be some natural imperfections. These are usually small knots, natural
blemishes, cracks and slight variation in colour. Such characteristics are
part of the natural solid wood.

Much of the work that goes into
making this furniture is carried out by hand. You will notice the use of a
traditional dowel-peg on the mortise and tenon joints. The cabinet maker
hand cuts each one into place. Preparation of the furniture for hand
polishing is all performed by craftsmen and there may be slight variances in
the panels due to the hand sanding process.
Finally the furniture is stained and lacquered. This process will give the wood both colour and protection while the Oiled Oak finish is achieved using Boiled Linseed Oil.
